PROTECT YOUR EYES WHILE RIDING YOUR MOTORCYCLE

You really need to protect your eyes and face when riding. Constant wind can make your eyes water, which can prevent you from being able to see hazards. Your eyes are the most important sense organ for controlling that bike; you will still need them even when you don’t ride. The peculiarity of a motor biker is that you are more informed and safety conscious compare to a regular commercial rider on the streets.

Flying insects, dust and debris can hurt your eyes and face. Eyeglasses or sunglasses do not provide adequate protection for your eyes because they can fly off, move or shelter. Most motorcycle windshields do not give adequate protection for your eyes or face. As much as possible, get a good helmet with a very clear visor so that you can get a clear view of happenings around you.

I have seen a case of a motorbiker travelling from Lagos to Ogun state without wearing a helmet to protect his eyes, by the time he arrived at his destination, his eyeballs were red and swollen due to overexposure to dusts and debris on the highway. There are countless cases of Okada riders who travel long distance on Nigerian highways without protecting their eyes.

Protect your eyes while riding because you still need them at old age,

Love to Ride, Ride to Live!!!
